Blood Bite Overview
Or “How I Thought The Shark Was a JPG For a Second.”
Let me preface this by saying that I was blissfully ignorant of what this film was when I bought it. I thought it looked like another generic shark movie that one could pick up on the cheap at Walmart. This was only one of four shark movies that I decided to splurge on at the Super(shark) store. I decided to start with this one because, again, I thought it looked the most average out of the four.
After having sat through this sinking ship, I can say for certain that perhaps Great White was better than I thought.
Blood Bite is a 2020 Chinese horror film about a rich guy who wants to have cool looking sharks in his aquarium. It’s Deep Blue Sea. The story is pretty much the same as Deep Blue Sea, except with a dash of Jurassic Park. I like Deep Blue Sea, it’s not the best film ever, but for a shark movie it’s top tier. Blood Bite is like if someone saw Deep Blue Sea, and then after 50 years tried to recount it to someone.
I don’t even remember any of the character’s names, so I can’t even properly explain the plot. A professor and her assistant go to this rich guy’s underwater who cares, and spends half the movie telling him and his employees that they can’t do genetic science on the sharks.
