Could a ‘Doom’ Show Work?
Or perhaps another film?
Video game adaptations are like trying to find sushi at a gas station; either they make you sick, or they’re surprisingly good.
Sometimes you have the 2005 ‘Doom’ movie, and other times you have the ‘Castlevania’ Netflix show. At the time of writing, the ‘Doom’ series has two films.
One of them is the aforementioned 2005 film, which felt more like the live-action ‘Resident Evil’ movies, and 2019’s ‘Doom: Annihilation’, which I haven’t seen and often forget its existence.
So, what about a television series based on the games? How could that work?
Well, let me give you an idea of what I think a ‘Doom’ series could look like.
Setting.
The setting of a ‘Doom’ show, in my opinion, boils down to two big options; Mars or Earth.
Seeing as the very first ‘Doom’ game and the 2016 reboot both take place in a base on Mars, it would make sense to set the show there. Imagine the atmosphere that a demonic invasion could bring.
