Last week, I put out an article about ‘Friday The 13th: A New Beginning.’. I talked about the film, my likes, and my dislikes that came from it.

However, after going over it, I did forget to mention something.

That prospect is that the film was directed by Danny Steinmann. Now, why is this important enough to make a second article about the film?

Because it explains the off-tone of the film. By off, I mean sleazy. Sleazier than an estranged friend inviting you to an event as a gift grab.

Steinmann had mainly directed pornography up to his involvement with this film. This would explain all the nudity in the film.

This could also explain why almost every character acts like a grumpy wet piece of bread. Then again, it does make the kills all the more satisfying.

I want to add that as the week progressed, and my mind stewed, my opinion of this movie changed once again.

I think that this film is great if you go into it expecting nothing more than mindless violence and sex. Violence and sex are some of the most notorious aspects of the slasher film.

But as I said in my original article, there are better-made films in the series. Where this film excels in kills and nudity, it lacks in character and story.

If you like this film, then more power to you. It doesn’t do a whole lot for me, but I can appreciate the mindless entertainment that it brings, and sometimes that’s all anyone needs.
