Give Me A Story Mode; Why It’s Okay To Play On Easy.

At the time of writing, it has been a week since I played through Sifu. While playing, I had some thoughts and difficulties.

Okay well, most of those thoughts were obscenities. Obviously I can’t repeat them here because I would still like to have readers.

Anyway, this game was hard. I admit that I didn’t do the best. In fact, I changed the difficulty to the lowest setting partway through.

And that’s okay.

The spectrum of difficulty settings has expanded beyond “easy”, “medium”, and “hard”. Nowadays we see the modes like “Nightmare” or “Give me a story”.

The latter is for people who, as the term says, want to focus more on the cinematic side of the game rather than the actual gameplay. It’s also for the people who want to feel fun and not total frustration.

If you think frustration and challenge is fun, then awesome. I’ve played through Dark Souls so I can see the appeal. However, some people just want to kick back and have a good time without the hassle of trying to fight the Bed of Chaos for the 50th time.

That’s how I felt trying to get through the first stage of Sifu.
