Jurassic World Rebirth Looks… Good.

But I’m hesitant.

The trailer for the latest entry in the ‘Jurassic Park’ series has finally dropped. When I heard we would be getting another entry after the fizzle of a finale that was ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’, my hopes for this project were lukewarm.

It’s rather ironic that this series keeps being brought back from the dead as much as the dinosaurs in the film. Perhaps some things are destined to stay in the past and perhaps certain films should be laid to rest. Yet, after watching the first trailer for ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’, I can’t help but feel the inner child in me clutch his dinosaur figures to his chest and smile.

Instead of focusing on the dinosaurs being out in the world, ‘Jurassic Park: Rebirth’ opts for a (at least from what we can tell so far) seemingly dialed-back story that centers around a group of people going in search of dinosaur samples that may hold medicinal potential. Throw in some new, mutated dinos and a shipwrecked family, and you got yourself a solid-looking flick.

I would much rather have a simpler story done well instead of three or four plots being haphazardly juggled.

It also helps that we have Gareth Edwards in the director’s seat and David Koepp as the film’s writer. Koepp is known for writing for the first two ‘Jurassic Park’
