Long Games and Longer Breaks; Why Do We Stop Playing?

It is no secret that those who play video games find it hard to stick with the longer titles. These can be for a variety of reasons; such as life, work, or the simple fact that they got bored.
But why did they get bored?
Playing video games is to invade boredom and feel entertained. Fighting dragons or exploring a sprawling landscape should be the polar opposite of fun.
And yet there are plenty of titles that wither away in someone’s backlog like HBO’s Batgirl movie.
Titles such as Skyrim, The Witcher 3, or whatever new Ubisoft game came out that year are prime examples of this.
But why? Well, let me break it down for you like EA breaks wallets.
The first and foremost reason is life. Yes, life. The incurable, deadly, and fatal disease against free time. And like any virus, we have to keep it at bay.
While we work away to make sure Tim gets those reports for the Jimmy Jean client, our hearts yearn, our hands shake, and our mind floods with desire for that sweet sweet controller.
Then, over time, we might forget about the game we started as life continues to pile on more responsibility. It’s the old “out of sight, out of…
